Unfortunately, I am not too car savy. Need help. A few instances when I would stop my car abrublty or even making a stop at signal light my car would die. It would start right back up but would just die as soon as I stopped. This happened maybe a total of 5 times. My engine check light also came on. I took it to two mechanics. One told me that it was just one of my sensors and he reset it. Said if it came on again he would replace the sensor but that nothing showed up in the diagonostics test. Second time I took it they said they were almost positive it was my map sensor which has something to do with the fuel intake (i think) and if I replaced it my car would stop dying. It doesnt die anymore but sometimes the car feels like it will and I just push on the gas a little. It is only when I am stopping. Could it really be what they call a Map Sensor? Also, I have noticed that my steering wheel will shake on occasion. There will be a rumbling noise like I am going over those street bumps but I will lay off the gas and it will go away. What the heck is that? I just had my tires rotated and balanced and thought they did something wrong and took it back but they said everything was fine. HELP please. :(

You don't say whether they replaced the map sensor. Did they replace it? Next, what is the rpm that the car is idling at?

Sorry! No they never replaced the sensor and it idles around 3 rpm. I'm not good at this. My car actually hasnt stalled recently but still feels like it may die depending on maybe how I have been driving throughout the day. I havent replaced the map sensor yet. I guess I am worried that I will spend money on doing that and find out it was actually something else. Thanks for even taking the time to reply. Its very appreciated. :)

The EGR valve can be sticking. Look at that.

The noise you talk about could be a heat shield on the exhaust system. Look at them from under the hood to the rear and find a way to tighten them up if they are loose.
