Hi alcatraz,
The fan switch is located in the middle of the engine. Replacement is simple, screw out and in, though coolant might leak out. What is the reason for wanting to replace this switch? It seldom fails.
TIP : Work on it when engine is cold and keep radiator cap closed. Only minimal coolant would leak out when switch is removed.
