I used my air conditioner once this year in May. I turned it on yesterday and it would only blow out hot air. I let it run and it got a little cooler but none the less was still warm. Could it need freon? Or could there be a hose loose? What should I do? I have a vacation coming up where I need to drive from Ohio to North Carolina and I would like to get it fixed before then but have no idea what to do.

Hi annette754,

There are many possible reasons for the AC not to blow cold.

1. Check if the compressor engages when the AC is turned on.
2. If yes, check if there is enough freon in system. If not enough, there might be a leak somewhere, just topping up might give you a temporary cooling system only.
3. Check if the radiator and condenser cooling fans are working.
