1998 Honda Civic

1998 Honda Civic 254000 miles

My honda civic is idling very low, almost at zero when I am stopped at a stop sign/light. I just changed my spark plugs, valve cover and wires and then this problem began occuring. Any suggestions on where to look for an issue?

Was it right after you replaced the spark plugs and wires?

How does the car run otherwise? does it run rough or hesitate while accelerating? If so, you have a mis-fire.

If it runs fine except at idle, then you might have
1)a vacuum leak caused be a leaking gasket or hose
2)a mal-adjusted idle screw or dirty throttle body
3)faulty IACV (idle air control valve)

The car idles fine during acceleration. I did just replace the spark plugs, wires and valve gasket cover (thing). I will look into the other options you listed...thank you very much!
