1996 Honda Civic PCV Valve Removal

Engine Performance problem
1996 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 289000 miles

During the removal of the old PCV valve it broke off flush at grommet. What would be the best way to finish this job? I have tried to remove the remainder of the valve with needle nose pliers but this just keeps breaking the remaining plastic valve into little pieces. This is a very difficult area to get to. Not like any PCV valve I have ever encountered before. Please help!

Hi HotRodHonda,

If you can get a small suction hose, that would be the best way to get the remainder out. Break them into smaller pieces and remove with the suction.
Next option would to remove the valve cover.

If possible, remove the rubber grommet first for easier access.
