An old car, no owners manual, can anybody give me info on how many degrees should the ignition timing be? . And what is the best way to do it? WILL IT ADD TO THE WEAR AND TEAR OF THE ENGINE IF IT IS ADVANCE OR DELAYED. Tnx pros.

There is an under hood sticker that displays that information and it might harm the motor if the timing is not correct.

Or a local smog inspection station will have that information at their fingertips. It will depend on the motor, 12 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees is the non Vtec and 16 plus or minus two for the vtec
