I recently bought this car, and it ran fairly well at first. After about the first 500 miles, it began to miss-fire. It turned out that the rotor had cracked and was about 1/8 a turn off. I replaced the rotor, cap, wires and plugs. Afterward, it ran fine again for about 50 miles, but it began to do the same thing. Upon further inspection of the distributor, I noticed the cam shaft has a lot of play in it and has even rubbed a groove into itself against the distributor housing. There were fillings inside the distributor which caused some minor scratching. What kind of repair is necessary to fix this problem?
