MY daughter has a 1989 accord 2.0 L 2bbl. I have a very old but still functioning  Actron tach/dwell meter with the two leads (one green, one black), I cannot find any informtaion on how to connect a tach to her car so I can set her idle speed.

any advise or info would be a blessing.

thanks,

stuart

Usually the two leads are connected black to the ground and the other to the plus side of the coil. However, the coil is internal to the distributor and I don't think that will work. No tach on the car I assume so what is the reason for adjusting the idle. Feeling or what? On the carb there is an adjustment screw. Is the car an auto or manual? If it is a manual tranny I would just take it down to a level that the engine sounds good at when warm and that the air if it has such does not bog it down too much.
