Hi, My engine light is on. I stopped at a auto zone and they ran the computer test and it showed up that its the cam position sensor. The car starts up fine and runs fine when I give it gas but as soon as I slow down and if I come to a complete stop the engine shuts off. I have to put the car in park and restart it again. Can this be any other problems besides the cam position sensor? I dont want to pay for parts and get them installed if the problem is anything else that I'm not aware of.

You have a code
and the reason for check engine light is that the PCM detected a failure or a malfunction
and that code will pin point the troubled area
and then you have to check and test to find the problem
if it s a cam sensor need to have it checked
also check timing belt too
