I own a 2000 Accord DX with 186 000km. Recently I decided to be a do it yourselfer and put in a new CD player however I hooked the wires up improperly the first time and now my Instrument cluster will not light up. All the little icons work as they should and the gauges and digital display are not effected. I checked all the fuses and even removed the cluster and replaced all the bulbs. I had a guy from a local Stereo shop check it out and he said he's never seen this before.

A new cluster is alot of money and id rather not but one to find out its something else.
What else could it be?
Oh yeah head lights work fine day time running lights havent worked since I bought the car and the SRS light stays on all the time.
Thankx in advance for any help!

If you replaced the bulbs and checked all of the fuses for the ip you may have a short to ground in the cluster especially if you powered the wrong wire

you can check these two things if you havent already fuse 6 and 9 left dash panel and passenger under dahs relay box fuse 13 applies to 2.3 and 3.0

Im sorry I wasnt clear, they are called fuse / relay boxes and if you checked the fuses I stated the only other thing you could do is pull the cluster and check each wire for power, like the bulb sockets you could use a test light and see if they have power at the socket and trace the socket wire back to the cluster connector and I can help there if you need wire locations or colors hope this is a little more clear
