I have a 1999 Honda Accord. It starts fine and I drive a few miles and the car cuts off. No sound. I just continue to roll to a stop. It never really stalls when I am breaking. Almost always when I am in motion. I try to start it right away and it wont turn. But it is trying to. After a minute or so, it starts up with problem. Then it might happen two more times before it is good for a few days. Or it just starts up after the first stall to get me where I am going and its fine. It have replaced the oil, the oil filter, spark plugs, and air filter. I'm not sure what else to do.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Candy,

This sounds like a ignition switch failure to me. Drive into or call your Honda dealer and ask them to do a " vin status inquiry" for your vehicle. There was a recall on some ignition switches for certain model year Accords. You may be able to get it handled for free. No promises mind you. Please let me know how you do.

I did take my car a few years ago, when I got a letter telling me about the ignition switch. Do you think it could still be that? I thought they fixed that problem when I took it to them when I got the letter.

Best,

Candy

Candy,

You may want to confirm that the switch was replaced then. Your description of the problem makes the ignition switch a suspect to me.
