1996 Honda Accord WindShield Wipers

My wipers do not immediately work when you turn the switch. If you turn then on the fastest speed they come on sooner. The medium and slow speeds takes up to 15 minutes. Can you tell me where to start?

Hi jbooze,

There should be no time lag when the wiper is turned on. This is a strange phenomenon.

When the wiper works, is the speed normal or slower than it should be?

Does the intermittent speed works and does the wiper stop at the correct position when turned off?

Check the wiper motor coupler for power supply with ignition switch turned on. Green/Black wire.

Ground the Blue wire and see if it works immediately.

Repeat with Blue/Yellow wire.

If both don't work immediately, the motor is faulty.
