Outer tie rod
Steering problem
1995 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 270000 miles
My 1995 honda accord has a bad outside tie rod on the drivers side. I am not able to turn the outer tie rod whille the inner tie rod is being held. I have tried heating it up and putting vise sgrips to hold the inner tie rod while i turn the other but it still just spins. what should i do, should i change the inner and outers and how would i do that? Or should i just take it to the mechanics?

Hi magitface,
The rack end has hex areas for holding and you can use a adjustable spanner for better grip. If it is too badly stuck, you might need to replace both.
Have you unloosened the jam nut?
To replace you need to remove the boot.
Use a sharp chisel to unlock the locking tabs.
use 17 mm open hex spanner to unloosen the ball joint lock.
