My car misfires when it is raining and not fully warmed up. I installed a nwe distributor recently and have replaced the distributor cap and wires. It still mis fires. I have soaked the engine with a garden hose and it does not miss. It is only when I actually drive it in the rain. Any suggestion ?

I tried to disconnect the temperature sensor on teh air intake and the problem seems to have cleared - is this ok to do? What does the sensor do ?
