1987 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 421000 miles
my distributor failed last friday and it borke the timing belt, and the mechanic says it could cost upwards of 1000 dollars (this included fixing minor oil leaks). i was wondering if this was a reasonable estimate and if i should go to another mechanic to get this fixed.

Hi decisgrl,
There is no harm in getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion. The cost is dependent on what has been damages and needs to be replaced.
