1999 GMC Truck Trans Shifting

1999 GMC Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles
My trans does not shift into overdrive. I have had it looked at, but i think it might be something simple. It works good through the other gears. I can't believe I need another trans. Are there any connections or wires that come into play with the OD shift?
