1989 GMC Truck 85,652 miles
When I put it in park after driving it idles way to high. But after 2 or 3 minutes idles down.
Also when on a straight away and doing 55 mph the engine is running and sounding good, then all of a sudden the sound of the engine sounds like i put it in neautal and reved up the gas.
Got any ideas??

I think your electric or vacuum idle solenoid needs to be adjusted, or lubed, and the other noise you hear is probably the clutch fan kicking in.
