Have not used 4WD recently, but this morning went out and its stuck in LO 4WD. The light is on for 2wd, and if we change the buttons, it does nothing, stays in LO 4WD.
Assuming its a switch problem, but granny doesnt want to drive it, very noisy and tops out at 20 mph.
Will come back for donate questions later, as our family will need them.
This is a great site!
Thank you,
Jane

Start truck, shift into neutral, push 4wd hi range button, wait 30 seconds, then push the 2wd button.
You will be back in normal 2wd.

You have to switch from or to 4wd Lo range, whilst the truck is in neutral.

These trucks will occasionally do this by themselves, don't ask me why, but this is how to get out of it.

They will not shift whilst you are driving on the highway unless you are in neutral. So don't worry about it happening under way.

A friend who owns a GMC garage told me this.
