I've a 4x4 that is stuck in two wheel drive mode. I can't switch into either 4 wheel hi or low. There are no lights on the selector switch (there use to be, they went out about 2 wks ago - that's when I noticed I can't get into 4wheel drive mode). I was going to change the dash switch but before tearing apart my dash - thought I'd ck with someone with more knowledge on this then I.

Appreciate any direction you can provide. Thanks!

The motors freeze up especially if you are in a northern clime. If you are any good doing any kind of mechanical things you might be bale to fix it your self. Make sure you are getting powr to it. Then take the motor out and disassemble it carefully. Clean all the corrosion out of it and generally clean it up. The plate that eh shaft goes through, put it on a flat surface and very gently give it a light tap. Then put some silicone RTV on your finger and wipe around that edge and put the motor back together. Then at the splits of the motor put a light film of silicone rtv on the edges. It should work, if not then just replace it.
