1991 GMC Sonoma 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 240000 miles
I have to change the speed sensor in my truck, I need to know where to find it, and if I can change it myself, how to do it. I appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

Vehicle Speed Sensor Locations

REMOVAL
1.Apply the parking brake.
2.Raise the vehicle and support it with suitable safety stands.
3.Remove harness connector.
4.Remove screw.
5.Remove speed sensor.
*Have a suitable container to catch fluid.
6.Remove O-ring seal.
*Inspect all parts for wear or damage
INSTALLATION
1.Install new O-ring seal.
*Coat the seal with a thin film of transmission fluid.
2.Install Speed Sensor.
*Rotate the cover into place.
3.Install screw.
*Torque to 11 Nm (8 lbs ft).
4.Install harness connector.
*Lower the vehicle.
*Release the parking brake.
5.Add transmission fluid if needed.
