I have a 1998 GMC Savana Conversion Van. When I turn the ignition key I get Nothing. I have a push button battery saver on the dash. When I push it in I get power and the clock comes on however when I turn the key it immediately click back off without the engine ever turniing over. The battery is new and all connections tight.

About 3 months agoi I had a similar problem and they replaced the ECM computer and took the security card mechanism mounted under the dash out and it's run fine up until now. Any suggestions.

I looked at info for G1500, 5.7L engine, savana. I'd still have to make sure the battery has a full charge and all connections are clean and tight. Also, have to make sure the charging system is working. Then I would check the starter circuit. You may have to check feed to and from the ignition switch. Then I would check the starter circuit. Don't know about the battery saver button?
