Rough Riding 2000 GMC Sierrra Z71

I seem to feel every little bump in the road as a crack and bang inside the cab. The 5.3L truck has just over 231000 km. The shocks aren't mushy when i jump up and down on the box. What should i be looking at replacing?? Truck is used both in city and on the farm, with very minimal towing or hauling.

A heavy metalic knock is a sign of the lower engine gone bad. Youy probably need another motor, if that is what you have.
