Loose steering column

My 1991 S10 blazer 4x4 I bought new-it has 190K miles. 4.3 EFI with tilt wheel etc. The steering column is loose, mostly in the vertical direction at the shirt lever connection. I thought it was the tilt wheel, but no. It is getting much worse last few weeks. What is the diagnosis and costs?? Is this common?? The truck otherwise runs A-1. Thanks -

yes this is common on alot of chevys. the column needs to be tore down and there are four screws about 1/3 of the why down that come loose after time. i charge 100.00 to tighten them myself. this is about the going price, most places cost more. it is important to have this fixed because you can loose all steering if it where to come all the way apart.

I have the same problem but it's not that hard to fix it. I'm gonna do mine this summer. Go on youtube and look up itsjojo4. They have three very helpful videos on fixing this problem.
