My mom's 1995 GMC conversion van has a 6 cylinder motor, 165,000 miles on it.

Yesterday while driving the van the steering became very hard to turn. I mean it took all my strength plus just to make a turn.

Is it the power steering pump? If it is the pump how hard is it to change.

I do some work on our cars and if it's not extra hard to change i would change it myself.
