Compressor bypass

My compressor has a bad bearing w/ a loud, whining noise. I don't want to pay to fix, so I want to bypass the compressor. I need a new belt anyways. Can I bypass the compressor w/ a belt made for that engine w/o air? If so, what is the wheel just below the compressor? The belt routing seems that it would turn that wheel opposite of it's current rotation. Or, do I need a compressor bypass pulley?

Thanks!

You need to make a schetch of the belt layout with arrows pointing as to the rotation. Using a string, wrap it around the pullies so that the compressor is by-passed. IF there is no straight line between the pullies because of compresor interference, you need to remove the compressor and or compressor clutch or not do it.

It looks like the diagram with out a/c has an added idler pulley. You may need to get a bracket from the scrap yard to convert it.
