Noises problem
1997 GMC Jimmy 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I bought gas. Turned on the street, heard a small bang. Car proceeded down the hill. Tried to turn left but hardly did. Car had no power. Tried to boost. Still have lights but no power to engine and will not start up with boost.

Do you mean the engine quit running after the bang and now it will not start and run? OR are you saying that even with a boost there is no electrical power to the engine?

Sorry for the phrasing and thank you for your attempt to help. All of a sudden no power to the engine and had no control over steering. Still had electrical in truck-lights. Husband tried to give a boost but did not help.

Not a problem. If I understand you correctly it sounds like you may have internal engine damage. The bang and the engine suddenly stopping (that is likely why you suddenly couldn't steer, no power steering) are not good things. The lack of motion when you tried to jump start it points that way as well.
Sorry, but it looks like it needs to get into a shop for a better diagnosis.
