How do you adjust the brake switch on a GMC 2500 work truck. It works fine but will not turn the brake lights off unless I lift the brake pedal slightly. It happens 80% of the time. It is not a switch that can be adjusted by loosing a locking nut.

STOPLAMP SWITCH Removal & Installation Remove negative battery cable. Disconnect electrical connector at switch and remove switch. Installation is reverse of removal. Adjust switch, see ADJUSTMENT. Adjustment Depress brake pedal. Pull lever at bottom of brake switch back to the stop. Pull brake pedal against stop.
You might need to remove it, and straighten out the clip. Then reinstall it.
