1991 Geo Tracker timing belt
Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Geo Tracker 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 150000 miles
won't hold time, BUT in replacing the belt I have discovered a lot of gear play @ the crankshaft. The slotted "key" @ the harmonic gear moves about 1/16" before the belt even begins to engage....is something else wrong?? Or, is this normal tolerance.
Thanks,
Michael

Did you ever find an answer? The key on my `92 sheared off right after having the water pump replaced and I'm looking for answers on that, too...
