fuel pump problem

After going over a small bump my car would not start, then for no reason it did, after about an hour. There was no tell tale hum from the fuel pump. I drove home and reversed onto my drive, once again after I turned it off I tried to start it again, no hum from pump, an hour later it works again, the pump is a year old having replaced it a year ago, everythimng else is sound. Any ideas ? pump ? relay ? wiring ? what can I do to find the issue ? Cheers Guys
