Not the motor,
but it sounds like its coming from the front of the engine, something that is being driven by the belt.

belt has been changed, idler pulley bearings changed, alternator has been checked.

any ideas?

thanks.

Take the belt completley off and run it for just a few moments to see if the noise goes away. If so, listen where the distributor used to be, it is now called the crank angle sensor and they chew up bushings inside them like crazy. Have replaced many of them for a "belt type squeel"
