Hi Dave. Thanks for replying and trying to help.

The vehicle is a 99 Windstar LX. When replacing the REM I don't recall any extra plugs or harnesses. I thought I would pose this question about the REM to see if it does indeed affect the rear heat.

I actually haven't gone back in behind the jack area to double check all connections but wanted to find if anyone knew of this problem. Let me know what you think about it.

Thanks

As I posted to lugz. The only difference I can find when ordering parts is the anti theft/power doors. It makes me believe all the modules are equipped for rear heat/air con. Of course if we knew which year and model van your new module came off. We would be a little wiser. Haha. I'm going to ring a buddy of mine at fords tommorrow. Maybe he can shed some light for us. Hopefully he can heat up your passengers this winter. And just to be sure? You have checked the relay? Aux blower motor relay in fuse junction panel? On every wiring diagram I can find. Every module has 2 plugs one for lighting system and one for aux blowers. Will let you know what I find out from ford?

Sounds good Dave. Also the part came off of a 99 Windstar as well. I think it was an LX but not sure. I was just elated it was only going to be $20 instead of the $750 Ford quoted me.

I did also check fuses and relays to the rear heat with no success.

Keep me posted what your buddy says.

I seem to be having the same issues with a 2000 Windstar. It has traction control- antitheft -electric doors.
Could someone post the REM part #

This my electric locks have been erratic for a long time.
I only found out about the tail lights going out today.
Gonna check the boneyard by my house tomorrow and hope I find a match.

TIA

We have had issues with the part #'s on the REM for this vehicle. I have part # YF2Z-13B524-BA. Your best bet is to remove the old REM to get the part # off it

Hey guys sorry to jump in. I am having the same problems with my 99 windstar lx. My dealer had my car for 7 days a told me that they "think" it is my REM at $750. But my van also has trouble with the interor lights. Sometimes they stay on and don't turn off after closing all doors. And the open door light comes on when driving say that the doors are open. Does all this have to do with the REM? Is there a way to test the REM to be sure that is the problem? And help is appreciated. Thanks!

9 out of 10 times when a light is out its a bad ground. Take a wire and ground the socket and try the light.
