I have a 1998 Ford Windstar and it smells like it running rich and it stops running when you let off the gas.

hving it scanned for codes will be a step in the wrte direction .
check it for tune up
check o2 sensors
mass air flow sensor
fuel Pressure reg and so on
u need the codes have it scanned
