Hi Everyone. 1997 Ford Thunderbird, 166,000 miles on a well-running 6-cyl engine. I have passed 8 straight inspections (Texas) with no trouble. This year, the ispector failed me because: "Your car's computer will not communicate with the State's computer." Maybe they're having a fight or something, I don't know, but the car is running perfectly, so I know the computer works. Does anyone know what this means?

Have the car checked for codes, computer maybe receiving error codes from a sensor stating a problem.

But before you do this Is the check engine lite staying on once the car has been running for a few minutes. Thats usually an indication that the computer is receiving error code(s).
