After my engine reaches normal temp my oil pressure drops considerably while in idle, to NONE! This occurs only in gear, i.E, drive or reverse but is fine in nuetral or park.

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and/or engine bearing.

I have replaced the switch to no avail. Attaching a gauge would be difficult as the power steering pulley has to be removed to reach the switch and cannot crank engine with gauge in as I cannot place pulley and belt back on. THe engine is getting oil but after normal temp I lose power and my guage bottoms out below 1500 rpm. PErsonally I think it is time to overhaul the engine. I just hope I can get a 1000 miles trip to see my daughter out of it first.
