1995 Ford Thunderbird oil pressure

When ever im below 2000 rpms my oil pressure drops to nothing and the check gauge light turns on

How long since last oil change? A plugged oil filter might drop the pressure a little. Is the engine oil full and clean? Sometimes low oil can cause a drop in pressure. Do you have the right oil in it? I've seen cars that have to have the factory recommmended weight of oil or the pressure will drop. If all is OK here I would suspect faulty oil pump.
