I am changing the oil on my 1994 Thunderbird LX V8.

I cannot get the oil filter out of the engine compartment. It is trapped in there. The only logical place for it to come out is over the front of the cross member, but there are lines and hoses in the way. I cannot find any access panels to remove, and it will not come out from the top. There appears to not be any clearance anywhere to take it from the car and put a new one in.

Any ideas?

Make sure you wear gloves and as far as the oil filter, you are going to have to approach it from in front of the drivers tire to get decent leverage. You are going to have to maneuver it carefully and you can wiggle it out once it's not threaded to the engine. I did this a few days ago. Just be sure to secure the vehicle on jack stands and have a bit of patience.

Hope it helps!
