Engine Performance problem

I have a 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 4 cyl. The fuel pump keeps burning out. Any suggestions as to the cause of this? I have been told that the ECM needs to be replaced.

first see if you have the proper fuse in for the fuel pump, also check the relay.

if those are good check for a grounding wire or it could be a bad ECM.
