I have a 1987 Ford Tempo 4dr L.X model with a 2.3 H.S.C 4 cylinder motor manual trans with approx. 75,000 miles Keep in mind the car may set for up to a year, year and a half Last fall I started the car OK and pulled out of storage garage and let the car run for 30 minutes Shut the car off came back to car 1 hour later and hit the key and NOTHING! no lights no bells no click no nothing Thought possibly it may have been starter solenoid Replaced solenoid Replaced battery with new one Checked cables and terminal ends and cleaned them Also checked the wires and fuses I could get to STILL NOTHING!! Any ideas? Did I say I was desperate? LOL Thank you

all fords are notorious for the relays that are mounted usually on the passenger side fender well, cheap to replace, i did have this happen to me before that i replaced it, but, there were actually two of these, when they were changed it ran fine. let me know what ya find.

Sounds like a battery that went bad. When you do have a good battery in it, check to make sure that a short also isn't a problem.
To do this, have the key off, all the doors shut, trunk shut, and hood light bulb removed. Then disconnect the battery ground wire and place a test light between the battery ground terminal and the ground wire that was taken off of the battery. If the light lights up even very dimmly, you have something draining (shorting) the battery.
