Under the dash, drivers side. The online manual doesn't have any pics, but it should be a green relay

1993 ford tempo, 201000 mi, 2.3L GL, manual transmission. Over the past year I have had problems starting the car. When I turn the ignition sometimes I can hear the fuel pump "priming" the system a very distinct sound. Then sometimes it does not engage. I replaced the in tank fuel pump. Last yr. I have been told there is a fuel pump relay somewhere. However in my reading some say it is in a master control module box on the front drivers side of the engine. Finally I recently, due to lack of time, thanks to the service had the ignition control module replaced. The service guy said he also cleaned some box but due to schedules he was unable to replace the part. The car runs good outside a vacum leak I found and an exhaust leak. I know what the problem is I just can't find it or need clarity.

Thank You,

Danny

I am trying to locate a fuel pump relay for a 1991 ford tempo? We have asked a few different places and are getting answers. The car is turning over but will not start. The fuel pump was just changed about a week ago and so were the plugs. It's getting fuel all the way up to the rail?

Hello,

Ok, since you are getting fuel to the rail the most likely your fuel pump is working.

Now you said the plugs were changed, how about the Distributor Cap and Rotor? If the electrodes inside the cap are corroded spark will be reduced and your vehicle won't start.

Is it sputtering or trying to start? You need to check for spark also besides fuel. You can remove a sparkplug and lay it on valve cover and crank engine over to watch for spark. You can also notice if plug is wet from floodling.
When sitting in car and turning key to 'ON' but not start you should hear a hum noise from backseat area. Fuel pump is right under middle of back seat in tank.
When was the last time car ran well?

The fuel pump relay is included in a module under the hood. CCRM

Look at strut tower driver side, rectangle shape, some like 4 x 6 inch black box. You can't miss it.

In the module, there's a relay of the fuel pump, engine radiator fan and ac clutch relay

Hope this helps,

Dan

The fuel pump relay is within the constant control relay module on left side of engine compartment near starter.
