Expansion plugs
My girlfriend has a 94 ford tempo with the 2.4L 4 cyl auto and about 100K mi.
after findnig a coolant leak coming from under her car, she took it to her mechanic who said that the freeze plugs need replacing. the estimate was too high, so i am trying to do them for her. i have found four plugs, two of them badly corroded but not leaking, and the leak is coming from between the oil and ATF pans. is there a way to get to that fifth plug without removing the whole transaxle? we live in los angeles, where there is no real risk of freezing. can i just clean and JB Weld the leaks?

You can always try it, i have seen stranger things work. Worst case scenario is it doesn't hold and blows open, overheating the engine and turning into a real expensive repair. Or pull the tranny back now.
