1994 Ford Tempo Repair Question

Won't turn over
Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Ford Tempo 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 99,000 miles
our husband put gas in our car. About 1/2 mile down the road it just quit-no noise or anything. We've tried the reset button and checked the fuel pump (looks ok) and replaced the fuel filter. It sounds like it will start, but never turns over. Any ideas?

did you check for spark? put an extra plug on a spark plug wire and lay on metal part of engine while someone cranks over. if you have spark, get some gas into intake thru butterfly or vacuum hose and see if it fires. how did you check fuel pump?
