While accelerating or decelerating the car is ok, but if trying to maintain a constant speed or going beyond about 50 MPH the car shakes terribly. Upon jacking up of the car, the front tires wobble despite the lug nuts being tightened. I have been told everything from the idler arms to a bushing in the steering. If you let the shaking go for a minute or two, the check engine light will come on. Any ideas?

You have a rack and pinion steering system, there is no idler arm...if the check enging light comes on, have the codes read, This is where to start. If the tires wobble, jack both off the ground, place your hands at 3 and 9 oclock, and shake, it's either going to be a ball joint or an inner or outer tie rod end.[img]https://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/62217_Test_Connector_Pre96_12.jpg[/imCount the flashes, a 22 will flash as 2 flashes then a short pause, then 2 flashes, if more than one code is stored, the pause will be longer. The codes will display three times and end with 11 or 111. Write them down and post here.g]
