Question about my 95 Taurus

My engine seems alittle loud when I reach 40 + mph and it seems like I need to accelarate (press the peddle) more than I used to. My last tune-up was three years ago. Will a tune-up help? Also, could a dirty air-filter be the culprit? Thanks!

Be sure you airbox, where your air filter is, is tightly clamped shut.
Check any airtubes for emissions as well
