I drive a Ford Taurus.
The breakes almost completely stopped working.
I put break fluid in its container. It needed it.
the next day, the brakkes completely stopped working.
the brake fluid container was pretty much completely empty.
I want to fix the problem myself.
Could somebody please give my some insight as to the possible nature of the problem and what the best thing to do to fix it is.

Don't know the year but it sounds like a blown brake hose or the master cylinder went bad.
If the master is bad and your loosing fluid that quickly check the carpet up under the brake pedal it would show fluid.
To check a hose just look at the parking spot for any fluid leakage

Thank you for answering my question.
One more question
Any way that I can fix the lines or replace the M.C.
I do not have Mechanical training but I can fix things very well.
Does the system require specialized tools and/or training?

Purchase a manual on the vehicle it should give you step by step instruction. Nothing worse than having to have a vehicle towed after finding you cannot handle the job in the first place.
Brakes are a safety item and repairs should be done by a certified mechanic or someone who is certain they can undertake the job.
The manuals can be purchased on this website
