I have a 2002 ford taurus ses with 75,000miles. It runs fine in low rpm but when I approch 4,000 rpm the engine starts cutting out then when i pass thur 4,000 near 5,000 it smooths back out. Have no check engine lights. Also able to reproduce while vehicle is in park. Any help would be great. Thanks

It sounds like the throttle position sensor. You can test it by placing an ohmmeter across pin B and C (or 2 and 3, depending on the model). Remove the rubber boot from the throttle body. Then, very slowly, open the throttle from fully closed to fully open. Observe the resistance. If you see the meter going berserk at certain points, then you need to replace it.
