Thank you for the donation.

Is your vehicle equipped with manual or automatic HVAC system?
Is the compressor engaging when A/C is turned ON?
Is the coolant level in radiator correct?
Was any repairs carried on the cooling system or the radiator coolant drained and replenished?

Problem could be due to a faulty air mix control system.

Manual controls, heat/AC control, compressor engages, occasonally. Coolant is at reccommended levels. Heat may come on 10 to 30 min into drive. No work on either system bought car used in 2005.

Step 1 - A heater cannot operate unless the engine is full of coolant/antifreeze. If coolant level is low check the system for leaks.
