2003 Ford Taurus engine warning light and brake light

Engine light has been on for about 2000 miles, can't
determine why.

brake warning light has been on for several weeks, it
stuck during winter when emergency brake pedal was engaged - brakes work fine, but warning won't
go out.

Hello,

Ok, first off the engine light. Go by your local auto zone or similar and have them pull codes for you they will do it for free. Then post codes here.

The Brake light could be just the button being stuck in from the e-brake being stuck. Just look around were the e-brake is and find the button you should be able to pull it out with a pair of pliers.
