2002 Ford Taurus My car is making a funny sound

2002 Ford Taurus V12 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 9200 miles
My car is making a squeeky noise from the engine any time i start it or drive it. At times it gets louder or softer. When i got the car serviced they said it sounds like it is coming from my oil tank... They are not certain. If it is coming from the oil tank is it a serious problem? I already payed alot from getting a new transmission... I woundering how much would this cost me now!
