Recently the car has been climbing to red on the temperature gage. This only happened while sitting idle. The emissions light came on quickly, blinked a few times then turned off. I had been leaking antifreeze. My compressor was also making some clicking and had no air conditioning. I had a new compressor put in, a new thermostat, a new resevore and my raidiator flushed (because the antifreeze resivore was a deep rust color). I got the car home and found that I the temperature gage still climbs to red when sitting idle and I still have no heat. My air conditioning now works. I was told after they did the flush that there is an air leak somewhere. I need help with the heating problem - I'm told it may be the heater core, but that if it was that, I would have fluid on my mat. Then again, it may be the water pump. No more than a few seconds while sitting idle, the fans come on.
