2001 Ford Taurus Transmission not shifting

2001 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 113000 miles
Hello, My wife has a 2001 Ford Taurus SES, the car has had a few issues since her purchase (i.e. blown engine, bad fuel cell) this morning she left for work, or so i thought, and now the tranny will not shift into gear. I let the car complete warm up-nothing, i checked the fluid-clean & full, although there was some "bubbling" on the tranny stick. The shifter will go the gear desired (park to reverse & drive) howeverit seems to be that the tranny will just not shift. Please reply with any help or info that you may have. Thank you
